Optimizing SEO with Rank Math in Elementor

As shown in the screenshot below, our homepage is now open in Elementor page builder. The best part is that you can use Rank Math seamlessly within Elementor, just like any other element. If you’re looking to optimize the SEO of a pre-existing page, Rank Math is ready to assist. Even if you’re starting from scratch, you can use Rank Math step by step while building your page.

To begin, open the Elements of Elementor, then click on SEO, which will take you directly to the Rank Math settings within Elementor. As you can see, our current SEO score is 10 out of 100, which is quite poor. The title is very short, and the URL is not SEO-friendly. In the next step, we will show you how to optimize these elements one by one.

Step-by-Step Guide: Optimizing Rank Math’s General, Advanced, and Social Settings in Elementor

We are breaking down the process into steps. The first step in Rank Math is the General section, which offers several options.

Step 1: Optimizing Your Search Appearance with Rank Math’s Preview Feature

The first interface you’ll encounter in Rank Math’s General Option, as shown in the screenshot below, is the Preview feature. This displays how your website will appear in Google search results when people search for it. To make changes to the preview, click on the Edit Snippet button as indicated. Once the preview screen opens, the first option is Title. When providing your page title, ensure it includes focus keywords (such as Elementor, Rank Math, and SEO in this context). The title should not exceed 60 characters.

Next, create a Permalink (a URL that acts as a permanent link to specific content on your WordPress site) that also includes focus keywords. The permalink should not exceed 75 characters. Lastly, add a Description with the same focus keywords, ensuring it does not exceed 160 characters.

As you provide the Title, Permalink, and Description, Rank Math will show an indicator for each option. When the indicator turns green, you are on the right track. If it’s red, the title and description are not SEO-friendly. How do you optimize it for a green signal? The answer is simple: include focus keywords in your Title, Permalink, and Description. For example, in this context, we’ve used the focus keywords Elementor and Rank Math in all three fields, as shown in the image below.

Step 2: Setting Focus Keywords in Rank Math for Elementor

In the second step of the General section, you will provide your Focus Keyword. To do this, simply type in your desired keyword and press enter, as shown in the screenshot below. However, ensure that you don’t add too many focus keywords—keep it concise and relevant.

Step 3: Basic SEO Settings in Rank Math for Elementor

In this step, we focus on Basic SEO, one of the most important settings. As shown in the image below, we have already added the Focus Keyword, which is marked with a green tick, indicating it has been successfully applied.

However, Rank Math still shows three issues marked with red crosses, indicating areas for improvement. The first issue suggests adding the focus keyword at the beginning of your content. Once we did that, it turned green, as you can see. The second issue is that the focus keyword does not appear throughout the content. This is easy to fix—by adding the keyword in relevant places, it also turns green.

The final issue is related to the words. Our initial word count was only 23 words, which is poor for SEO. Google recommends providing more content, as rankings often depend on the amount of information available. After increasing the word count to 1,358 words, Rank Math showed improvement, but the signal was still not fully green. By further increasing the content to 2,654 words, we achieved a green tick, indicating that our website is moving toward full optimization.

Step 4: Improving General SEO in Rank Math for Elementor

Additional: in the General SEO section, we took another step to boost your page’s optimization. As shown in the screenshot below, our page images were missing Alt Text and focus keywords. Once we added the Title, Alt Text, and Description with the appropriate focus keywords, the indicators turned green.

To ensure full optimization, follow Rank Math’s instructions and address each error one by one, as we did, until all issues are resolved.

Step 5: Enhancing Title Readability in Rank Math for Elementor

In the Title Readability section, there’s another helpful option to solve common issues. You don’t need to ask for help or watch any videos to figure it out. For example, in the screenshot below, you can see an error: Focus Keyword doesn’t appear at the beginning of the SEO title. If you’re unsure of what to do, simply click on the tick mark, as shown in the image, and Rank Math will automatically provide guidance on how to fix the issue.

Step 6: Improving Content Readability in Rank Math for Elementor

The final setting in the General section is Content Readability. As shown in the image below, we have one option that is not fully green. You can improve this by increasing the number of images and videos on your page. If you’re unsure what to do, you can click on the question marks for more detailed guidance.

In the same image, you can see that our SEO score has improved from 10 to 70, which is good. However, in real-time applications, you should aim for a score of 100 to ensure your Elementor website is fully SEO optimized.
