# Activate your licence

Add your licence key so updates arrive in your WordPress dashboard. The plugin works without one.

The plugin works without a licence. The licence key brings updates to your WordPress dashboard, and support.

## Find your licence key

Your licence key is in your purchase email and in your account on app.divicake.com. [Where to find your downloads](https://divicake.com/docs/account/find-your-downloads/) shows how to open your account.

## Add it to your site

- In WordPress, go to Divi → MCP for Divi 5. If Divi 5 is not active, it is under Tools. The first step is the licence.
- Paste your licence key and click Activate.
- The step shows the licence as active, with its expiry date, or Lifetime. Click Continue to check your site.

No key to hand? Click Skip for now. The plugin works the same, and you can come back to this step any time. It shows only to administrators.

From then on, new versions show up on the Dashboard → Updates screen like any other plugin.

Every licence covers unlimited sites, so use the same key on each site.

## When a yearly licence ends

The plugin keeps working. Updates and support stop until you renew. The licence step shows a renewal link when the licence has expired.
